Dear Bob Huddleston:

Thank you for your reply. You may be right about "American" vs. "Virginian",
but I still believe, particularly Colonial times through the War Between the
States, calling oneself Virginian for purposes of it was based on pride in
the state, having read and listening to historians and re-enactors on the
subject. One particular source of this is is listening to discussions (of
what is now the 2nd Amendment) on the militia, keeping and bearing arms
during the 1775 Virginia Convention with Patrick Henry giving his famous
speech. He was concerned about training and arming all men for the defense of
Virginia. (His motion to call out a militia passed the convention), Patrick
Henry must have been some sort of prophet, because just a month after the
March 1775 convention, didn't the gunfire in the Revolution begin?

BTW, are you related to any of the Huddlestons of Norfolk?

Just asking....

Regards,
Kristyn Ankrom
