I have been asked by the Fairfax Museum to share this with you. This series is part of a year long celebration of the 200th birthday of the City of Fairfax.

Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center will launch its "Catch the History Spirit" bicentennial lecture series this Sunday, February 13. Dr. Randolph H. Lytton, a George Mason University professor, will share his discoveries about the Fairfax family in
"Thomas Lord Fairfax: A Reappraisal." Dr. Lytton's illustrated talk will begin at 2 p.m. in the recently renovated Hamill Gallery. Refreshments and informal discussion will follow in the Visitor Center.
At 2 p.m., Sunday, March 13, Francis Gary Powers, Jr. will share the story of his father, Francis Gary Powers, an American U-2 pilot shot down by the Soviet Union in 1960, and plans for a Cold War Museum at Lorton.
The Museum and Visitor Center's lecture series continues on April 10, May 8, June 12, July 10, August 14, September 11,
October 9, November 13, and December 11.
