Nancy: Hi.  Where was he from in Virginia?  Any relatives living still in the area?  Check with the local court house, the register of deeds and the church that he and his family originally attended.  Also check with the local public library.  they should have a local history room and should have some information and or records.  Also if there is a local history association,reenactors that work with that period they can be of assistance.  Let me know what you find.  Jane Steele.
