Thanks Greg... that was one of the first things I discovered years ago
and glad I did.  That is how I know when our house had its first policy
in January 1813 and the store in October 1815. As well as his other
house.  But when it comes to other properties... not quite sure.  Some
of the policy scans are too faint to read.

Have you tried the Mutual Assurance papers?? if owned property he
probably insured it Greg Carter
