I believe it was an inexperienced, one term Congressman from Illinois  who 
got elected by some fluke in the political system and led us  into a war in 
which somewhere between 600,000 TO 700,000 brave American men  were killed.
 
There's an old saying about those who forget history. I don't remember it,  
but it's good.
