The American Civil War Museum, Library of Virginia, and John L. Nau III Center for Civil War History at the University of Virginia present the "Ordinary People, Extraordinary Times" Symposium Saturday at the Library from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. 

The speakers for the 2018 symposium are Dr. Peter S. Carmichael, Dr. Lauranett L. Lee, Dr. James I. Robertson, Jr., Dr. Jane Schultz, and Dr. Amy Murrell Taylor. They will explore the impact of the war on diverse groups of people and narrate the stories of individuals who navigated the challenges and opportunities of war.
