Those groups had no significant role in either war but get mentioned at all  
in those contexts to make the NEA and the PBS/PC academic crowd happy  (unless 
you consider being massacred at the Crater significant).
 
By the way, do you know why your apparent hero of Fort Monroe  Beast Butler 
acquired the nickname "spoons".
