"Tomahawk Claims" as well as "cabin rights" & "corn rights" are described in
many of the older VA history books.

Joseph Doddridge - "Notes on the Settlement and Indian Wars of the Western
Parts of Virginia and Pennsylvania from 1763 to 1783..."; pub. 1824.

Samuel Kercheval - "A History of the Valley of Virginia"; pub. 1850.

John Lewis Peyton - "History of Augusta County, Virginia"

All 3 of these books have descriptions of "tomahawk claims" & are on Google
books.
