    The MacKinlay Kantor piece, entitled "“If The South Had Won The Civil War,”
appeared in Look , 1960 Nov. 22, pages 29-62. Kantor speculated that the
victorious South would free the slaves in 1885 (I don't remember why he picked
that date) and allow Cuba to join their Confederation after Texas seceded from
it.
