Until the Dictionary of Virginia Biography  (DVB) is done, there are other 
reliable references which point to the primary sources:
for example, the American National Biography (ANB) of 2000,  and the Oxford 
Dictionary of National Biography (DNB) of 2004, both of which have entries 
on John Rolfe.

Could we please not rely on faint recollections  of old reading if there is 
reputable material readily available (online no less) against which to check 
some assertions.
