This is a common problem for which the solutions are not always easy. First, I'd plat out the metes and abounds (the N37E 24 poles parts) and then use the Adams Division map to see if there's a fit with the adjoiners. Or any of the maps that show lands in Shockoe Valley, but given the time period, Adams would be my first stop. Someone has penciled in the owners for the majority of the lots anyway so who sold it to wills might be in there, as will Grantland. The platted alignment should follow one of Adams lines. Also remember that maps are approximations of reality, so you may have to jiggle the line angles a bit.
