In preparation for April Fools' Day, Out of the Box features a mutilated
photograph with the words "April Fool" written across the back. The
defaced photo was sent to Mary Neff and showed her estranged husband,
William, with a button attached to his ear, an eye gouged out, and a
rodent scrawled on his forehead. Was this an innocent April Fools prank
or a husband's attempts to rattle his wife during divorce proceedings?
