Yes, absolutely.

Col. John Baylor III’s grandson, Robert Emmet Bledsoe Baylor (1793-1874), a Kentucky-born lawyer and judge, was a co-founder and principal benefactor of Baylor University, which was named for him. He later served as the university’s first law professor.
