This is what we contend with all the time -- textbook ppblum that sucks
the life out of history; no wonder students get turned off, the
"characters" they encounter are so unrealistic, and dull.  Can we blame
Texas?  I find that psychologically satisfying, even if it doesn't
change anything.

All very true, but I have never seen anything negative about Woodrow
Wilson 
in any textbook. The Texas board that reviews text books would never
allow 
it.
Have things changed recently?
