In the antebellum period, Omohundro was one of the big Richmond slave traders that Mike Chesson used to talk about....  Don't know if there is any connection to the patrons of the Institute of Early American History and Culture in Wmsbg....
   Antebellum Richmond city directories have ads for slave traders - format is similar to yellow-pages ads today -- we sometimes used them as illustrations in the late lamented Virginia Cavalcade.
   Antebellum issues of Harper's Weekly have some wood engravings of slave auctions etc.
