Mark your calendars for the next Library of Virginia book talk, to hear about
_Virginia’s True Founder: Edward Maria Wingfield and His Times_ on Monday
April 30, 2007. Jocelyn Wingfield, historian and international vice president of
the Wingfield Family Society, will discuss the biography of his noted ancestor
Captain Edward Maria Wingfield, who served as president of the Council or
chief executive of Virginia under the Virginia Company of London from May 14
through September 10, 1607, and later became one of the company’s largest
shareholders. Wingfield will offer a thrilling account of the early days of the
Jamestown colony and his ancestor’s role in its founding.

The Library of Virginia is located at 800 East Broad Street in downtown
Richmnd; free parking is available under the building.
