Mug Shot Monday features Walter Turpin, a prisoner who escaped once and
masterminded another daring escape plan yet was pardoned twice. Turpin
even ran a counterfeiting ring from inside the Penitentiary making
nickels, dimes, and quarters from discarded metal from the shoe shop.
Check out Out of the Box blog today for more on Turpin's story beginning
with his arrest for stealing cigarettes at the age of twelve.
