I live in Fredericksburg Va. and I'm the bugler for the 35th Battalion Va
Cav. What's interesting to me ....is this the same Andrew Benjamin Bowering
(1842-1923) that wrote the VMI fight sound "The Sprit of VMI" ?....and did he
have a son by the name of Benjamin Bowering ?....if so his son was an
advisor assigned to the 244th Coast Art'lly (NY National Guard) in the 20's
and 30's...it was my father's first unit.

Bill Buser
Fredericksburg Va.
