I was just adding to a previous poster's statement reporting what was
thought to be social climbing. I also quoted from the other newspaper's
remarks about the situation. Eston and his family have already spoken for
themselves.. that they descend from a Jefferson uncle, meaning Randolph.

Herbert,

As far as scientific evidence, we know as much about a Tom paternity as 
about a Randolph paternity.

And, no matter which of them it was, it is impossible to guess Eston's 
motives in choosing to call himself Mr. Jefferson.

As to Eston being a "geneological social climber", I think it would be wiser

to restrict judgement until Eston speaks for himself.
