   There is a site I use to search for source  material which is outstanding.
It is called WorldCat and is  the  world's largest network of library content 
and  services. 
It is free, but you do have to register.  Searching by keyword  such as 
'privateering'
should provide you with any number of source material available in  libraries.
Further options will provide you a list of libraries closest to you  that  
have the
material you might be interested.  The link for that site  follows:
