Dear Lena and other colleagues:

The Library of Congress's American Memory collections have significant
information about Virginia school architecture. The most complete
information is in the HABS/HAER collection,
http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/collections/habs_haer/. Enter the words

school Virginia

in the search box at top left, and you'll get a number of relevant hits
that include photographs, drawings, and textual documentation for each
building.

To find additional photographs and other information in other
collections, go to this page --
http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/browse/ListSome.php?
category=Architecture,+Landscape -- and enter the words

school Virginia

in the search box at the top of the page. You will probably get some
hits that are not relevant, but many more that are.

The Library's Prints and Photographs Online Catalog (PPOC) will yield
many more images of Virginia schools. Go to
http://lcweb2.loc.gov/pp/pphome.html and enter

school Virginia

in the search box at the top of the page (leave the default options as
is), and you'll get several hundred hits. Again, some will not be
relevant, but many will be.

Best wishes --

-- Jurretta
