        I don't get the concern.  A doughface is merely a term used to
describe the name given to northerners, chiefly northern Democrats, who
allied themselves with proslavery southern Democrats before the Civil War.
I wasn't insulted when he referred to me as a Copperhead, which is an equally
useful phrase in American history.  Is the "n" word you are referring to
"Northerner?"  I would personally be insulted to be referred to in that
manner, but not doughface.
