Have you seen the book "Hampshire County, West Virginia, 1754-2004?" It was
published last year to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Hampshire County.
There is a chapter on Fort Ashby, which was one of the forts in the County
during the F&I War era. You may purchase a copy at the Chamber of Commerce
in Romney, WV. It is priced at $30 + State sales tax.

Subject: Book about VA Forts during F&I War

There is a book about the VA Forts of the F& I War. I have seen the book but
never had the chance to read it. I once knew the name and author, but, alas,
have forgotten it. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

Also, I have a DAR book containing a one page write-up about Asbhy's Fort.
If anyone is interested in a copy, please contact me off the list.
