some years back, the african-americans who worked at CW spent a night
together in the "slave quarters," which will moving and illuminating and nearly
sacred for many of them. there were articles at the time, too, but can't put my
finger on a cite at the moment. nonetheless, i'm curious to know how final the
decision to close is. I'm thinking we should post the info on african-american
history lists too and somebody might mobilize people to do something.
