While there are some studies of Lee's generalship that bear a look, I
would suggest Emory Thomas, Robert E. Lee: A Biography (1995). It's
well written and gives the whole life. Douglas Southall Freeman's R E
Lee is a brilliant study, but one actaully needs to know a bit about Lee
and the Civil War.

Question from a customer..... I'd appreciate your comments here as I
haven't read anything lately.

Can you give me the title of what is/are considered the best of Lee's
bios?
