There is a very detailed obit of Ella Gaines Yates in the July 2, 2006
Atlanta Jounal Constitution by Derrick Henry. There are a couple of facts
that seem not quite right, for example, Governor Baliles says he appointed
her in 1986 as State Librarian, but the obit indicates 1985. I'd go with
his recollection. However, for the most part it seems on the money and is
very intersting. It gives a great deal of personal information others do
not that is instructive about her personality and persona.
