Folks west of the Blue Ridge might be interested in two upcoming lectures
at Va. Military Institute:
Thurs., 12 Feb. -- Dr. Wm. Rasmussen (Va. Historical Society) gives a
slide lecture based on last year's VHS exhibit, "Old Virginia: The
         Pursuit of a Pastoral Ideal"
Thurs., 19 Feb. -- Jeffrey Ruggles (Va. Historical Society) presents
an illustrated lecture on Henry "Box" Brown, based on Ruggle's
recent book published by the Library of Virginia.
Both talks will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Lejeune Hall, VMI. They are
sponsored by the VMI History Dept. and VMI's Virginia History Society with
the support of the Dean of the Faculty's Academic Speakers Fund.

The public is cordially invited to both these presentations. For
additional information (including directions) contact David Coffey, Dept.
of History, VMI --
via e-mail ([log in to unmask]) or by phone 540/464-7289.
