This list seems to be turning into a matter of prosopography (individual 
collective biography). Could list members recall that there are other places

to discuss geneaology and antiquarian research as well.
Could we focus on history, the individual interpretations of facts which can

be verified? Someone's feelings about the memories that their relative had 
about what they understood to have happened in the past is rather far 
afield.
Much of the family history discussed on this list is interesting, but really

belongs elsewhere.
Why don't some of the posters who constantly refer to their own family 
histories try to broaden the discussion to the ideas which that family 
history reflects.
