Gregg,

I see nothing wrong with new book announcements pertinent to Virginia history, or even modern day studies. After all, this is the LIBRARY of VIRGINIA, and you have posters of new books for sale in your Broad Street windows, hold book signings, etc. Please don't let one person's complaint ruin our use of the library or any news deemed pertinent to your core mission. Announcements of new books, and/or reviews of new books, is certainly within your core mission. The Virginia Historical Society magazine routinely reviews new books (not always positive, I might add.)
