*Annual “Straight to the Source” Program, March 29, 2019*

On Friday, March 29, 2019, the Friends of the Virginia State Archives will
sponsor the 27th annual “Straight to the Source” program at the Library of
Virginia.

            Participants have the opportunity to hear what the Library
staff has learned in the process of working with records in the collection.
Presentations show how the staff can combine its knowledge with other
resources to make a more complete story.

            There will be another outstanding program this year focusing on
the Virginia History Trails App for 2019; Reconstructing Family:
Post-Emancipation Records; Virginia History through Local Court Records;
and a discussion of amazing photographs by Michael Miley of Rockbridge
County families. There will be a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the
incorporation of the Friends as well.

            Don’t miss the opportunity to attend this program. The cost is
$35 for members and $50 for nonmembers of the Friends and includes a
delicious lunch. Receive registration information by sending an e-mail to
[log in to unmask], by visiting the Friends website (
https://friendsvirginiaarchives.org/), or by calling Anne Brown at
804-741-0136. Registration deadline is March 25, 2019.
