A young friend, an intelligent 15-year-old who got fascinated with WWII at a
D-Day museum is now curious about the beginnings of the Cold War. I'm
thinking that David Halberstam's _The Fifties_ might be a good introductory
book, but I wonder if folks on VA-HIST have other suggestions.
