I am reasonably certain that I remember that Davis had his papers deposited at the library of Randolph-Macon College, convenient to Jon but not to Kevin.

Jon,
I hope that in case you find information about "Spectacle Dick" Bland's library, you'll share it with us.
Merry Christmas.

Subject: [VA-HIST] Richard Bland's library
In his massive Intellectual Life in the Colonial South (p. 544) Richard Beale Davis wrote that a Prof. Clyde S. Henson of Michigan State University was studying Bland's library and had "gathered all he could about the books in the Colonel's library" -- and that Henson had sent Davis some 80 pages of photocopies of information about these titles (ibid., 1011 n 120).
Does anyone know where Henson's findings might be consulted?
Thank you and a joyous holiday season to all.
