For a project that I'm working on at the moment, I am looking for
recordings of
songs, accompanied by period instruments, that were sung/heard by the
patriots/rebels (for lack of a better term) and those that were sung/heard
by
the British.
I found the Smithsonian Folklife recordings, but the instrumentation for
most of
them is not accurate. I know about the Colonial Williamsburg recording, "In
Freedom We're Born," as well as "Music of the American Revolution: the
birth of
liberty," and "Colonial & Revolution songs," but I am wondering if there are
more out there that would be available.
I have not been able to find recordings of any of the British songs at all,
so
any suggestions for either group of songs will be most welcome.
Thank you.
