As a terrific and very current example of revisionist history, let me bring people’s attention to a lecture by my colleague Danielle Moretti-Langholtz featuring her presentation of a new understanding of the Brafferton School, the school for Indians at W&M dating from 1702; she focuses interestingly too on the process of arriving where she did:
