Several of my Free Persons of Color ancestors lived and were indentured in Charles City County, VA and there is one ancestor who was indentured there in 1665 as a male infant who was admonished by the church and was to receive 30 lashes. The infant's mother was a Bristish indentured servant. If anyone knows how I can find his name, please let me know. It is possible that there has been mention of this here, but if so I missed it and please accept my apologies for repetition. This is unbelievably exciting for me as I have Bentleys, Egglestons, Weldons (possibly), Cloughs and others for whom Charles City is a genealogy black hole before they moved to Amelia County.
