Good Morning Lonny,

Most historians use either Chicago Manual Style or Turabian style. While going through ODU's History Graduate program, we used Turabian. I did a brief check of major historical scholarly journals and nearly all use Chicago style.

The main thing is to pick a style and be consistent.

Sincerely,

Troy

During my undergraduate work in math & grad work in math ed & distance ed, I used APA documentation style. I am an amature historian & genealogist.

I'm attempting to document a family research that was submitted many years ago to the Nelson Co, VA, Historical Society. Should APA style be used or do historical researchers use another style. Much of the research was well done, in my opinion, but lacked a good bibliography.

Thanks in advance for the recommendations. And btw, it's great to be back on this listserv again! Haven’t been here since the late 90's early 2000's.

If you remember me send an email to [log in to unmask] & say, "Hey". I received so much assistance in those early days! Thank you.
