April 7-8, 2006. The Virginia Forum. A conference on Virginia history
and related fields held in Winchester, Virginia, and sponsored by
Shenandoah University and the Library of Virginia. Virginia has never
possessed an organization or annual meeting for those researching,
writing, interpreting, and teaching the history of the commonwealth.
The Forum is intended to address this deficiency and establish a
precedent for future meetings in which an evolving scholarship of
Virginia history can be developed. This event will be of interest to
students, teachers, and scholars, as well as historical professionals
from museums, historical societies, historic sites, and all related
fields including public history, preservation, geography, literature,
and archaeology. Warren Hofstra and Brent Tarter are conference chairs.
For the conference program or registration information, see the
conference website under the conferences tab at
www.theknowledgepoint.org or contact Sandy Snyder at [log in to unmask] or
