On Sunday, Jon Kukla referred to an article on the colonial Virginia
coat of arms and the motto, for which the full citation is:

Cynthia A. Miller, "Virgnia's Coat of Arms," VIRGINIA CAVALCADE 26
(Autumn 1976): 70-74.

FYI: The full table of contents (and searchable, at that) is available
on the Library of Virginia's Web site at:
http://www.lva.lib.va.us/whatwedo/pubs/cavalcade/index.htm
