Hi Friends,
The next meeting of the American Revolution Round Table of Richmond on November 20 will feature Andrew O’Shaughnessy discussing “The Men Who Lost America: British Generals and Politicians.” The presentation will be based on his new book. For a preview, check the Mount Vernon site at http://www.mountvernon.org/lostamerica?utm_source=SepeNews&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=LostAmerica. But don’t miss Andrew in person.
Also check http://www.mountvernon.org/library/opening?utm_source=Mount+Vernon&utm_campaign=f93b8a3cd0-October_2013_eNews10_10_2013&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0a9fb91d40-f93b8a3cd0-231202453 for video depicting the opening of the new Library for the Study of George Washington – essentially his presidential library.
Member Bernie Fisher alerted us to this historic marker in Indiana for the Oldest Surviving Veteran of the American Revolution. http://www.hmdb.org/marker.asp?marker=68780 Bernie is one of the associate editors of the highly recommended Historical Marker Data Base. Stop by on your next trip through the area. Thanks, Bernie.
Our friends to the south are planning some interesting programs. Check The Southern Campaigns of the American Revolution’s site for their October 26 - 27 meeting and field trip. http://www.southerncampaign.org/roundtables/

Under the shameless self promotion heading, the editors of the on line Journal of the American Revolution have a new book on the way. http://allthingsliberty.com/2013/10/best-american-revolution-book-ever/#comments I have an article included. And be sure to check all the interesting topics on their site.
Finally, a big thank you to Laura Baghetti of the US Army Quartermaster Museum at Fort Lee for a wonderful tour of that facility on Wednesday for ARRT-Richmond. Laura described the museum as a hidden gem. She’s correct. We all recommend a visit. http://www.qmmuseum.lee.army.mil/museum_history.html
The November meeting reminder will follow. See you there.
Bill Welsch
