A fool, a knave, and a stubborn, honest man.
Major General Alexander McDougall thus described three of his fellow Revolutionary War generals.
Join the American Revolution Round Table of Richmond for our Wednesday, September 18 meeting to hear Sean Heuvel discuss “The Revolutionary War Leadership of Major General William Heath: A Reassessment.” Sean is a descendant of General Heath and is in the process of forming a new ARRT in the Williamsburg area. Learn which McDougall considered Heath to be and whether it was justified.
We will meet for dinner at 5:30 in the Heilman Dining Center at the University of Richmond. The meeting will begin at 6:30. Details and maps are available at http://arrt-richmond.blogspot.com/p/2013-meeting-schedule.html Please join us and bring a friend.
Remember to mark your calendar for our guided tour of the US Army Quartermaster Museum on Wednesday, October 16, from 10 AM – noon. Logistical details will be discussed at the meeting. This tour is limited to ARRT-Richmond dues paying members only. So why not join?
We would again like to solicit book reviews – long and short – for our web site. Read a new or old tome that you would recommend to the group? Or perhaps visited an interesting revolutionary historical site? Why don’t all you readers and travelers put together a short piece for our consideration? Please email them to Mark Groth at [log in to unmask] Thanks.
Periodically, I plan to share, for your consideration, a web site that is especially interesting. This one is close to home and covers the Revolutionary War in North Carolina. It’s very well done. http://www.carolana.com/NC/Revolution/home.html
I look forward to seeing you on September 18. Please spread the word!
Bill Welsch
