Several histories of the French and Indian War make reference to Indian prisoners being held for exchange for prisoners held by the various tribes. In Hening there is reference to a bounty for prisoners and directs them to be held in the Williamsburg jail. See April 1757 http://vagenweb.org/hening/vol07-06.htm
Has anyone encountered accounts of how this program was administered, the numbers of prisoners held/exchanged, etc.?
Bill
