A brief biography of William Howe Ruebush (up to the eyar 1924) appears
on pages 248-249 of volume 4 of Philip Alexander Bruce, Lyon Gardner
Tyler, and Richard L. Morton, History of Virginia (1924), which gives
his birth date as 2 June 1873. I have a citation to an obituary in the
Richmond Times-Dispatch of 7 October 1957 indicating that he died on the
previous day, 6 October 1957. Those sources should be easy to obtain in
a good research library or by Interlibrary Loan, but there may be better
obituaries in newspapers closer to his hometown of Dayton, such as in
the Harrisonburg News-Record or the Winchester Evening Star.
