There is a register of lawyers admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Virginia at the Virginia State Law Library that documents several early women lawyers. I believe the first woman licensed to practice there was Mildred Callahan, from Alexandria, circa 1922. You can get access to this document by calling the state law library.

The library there also has information about the first woman to argue a case in that court, whose name escapes me at the moment. There was an article about the occasion in the RIchmond Times Dispatch and later in the Virginia Bar News.
