Everyone,

Here is another event in VCU's Year of Freedom project. Please attend if you can.

Lecture: Louis P. Masur, professor of American Studies and History at Rutgers University, will speak on “Abraham Lincoln and the Emancipation Proclamation,” on Wednesday, 3 October 2012, at 5 p.m. at the VCU Commons Theater. Free and open to the public.

A reception and book signing will follow.

Professor Masur is former editor of Reviews in American History and a cultural historian whose publications include books on capital punishment, the first World Series, a transformative photograph, and a seminal rock
ʹnʹ roll album. He will base his lecture on his new book, Lincolnʹs Hundred Days:The Emancipation Proclamation and the War for the Union.
