for the same reason some people continue think northern fought the war to
free slave, at least not till 1863.....not willing to change the way they did
things and thought. In many respects one could say the South lost by not
changing. If they had enlisted the slaves as was suggested I thing the later
part of 63 and 64 and 65 might have been different.....but the just couldn't
bring themselves to change
