In 18th Century VA, is there a difference between an "overseer" and an
"agent" when dealing with "property?" I've been reading newspaper
advertisements. Often a widow selling land will have an advertisement
posted by an "agent."
In runaway slave ads, sometimes an agent posts and refers to an
"overseer."
What's the difference?
Also, can someone explain the role of "TRUSTEE" as it relates to sale of
property and/or debt resolution?
Thanks,
