Liberty Lecture Series - Wednesday, 1 October 2008 at 11:00 a.m.

The St. John's Church Foundation and the Valentine Richmond History Center 
invite you to St. John's Church to attend a lecture by University of Richmond 
president and historian Ed Ayers. 

Dr. Ayers will discuss a continuation of his 2003 book, In the Presence of Mine 
Enemies: The Civil War in the Heart of America, 1859-1863. 

The lecture is free of charge and is followed by a book signing in the St. 
John's Church Visitor Center, where In the Presence of Mine Enemies will be 
available for purchase. 

An optional boxed lunch will follow the lecture.  Advanced reservations are 
required for the boxed lunch and/or to pre-order a book. Please call (804) 649-
