A new book, "The Jefferson-Hemings Myth, An American Travesty", sponsored by
the Thomas Jefferson Heritage Society, will be available in May 2001 and you

The Scholars Commission (composed of over 16 well known professors) will be
releasing their unbiased findings in a report around Thomas Jefferson's
birthday, April 13, 2001. This Blue Ribbon Commission, all volunteers and
NOT Monticello employees, are giving freely of their time to give the public
the benefit of their unbiased research into this fiasco, known as the
Jefferson-Hemings DNA Study.

You may recall that the report of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation
(now known as the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, thus dropping "memorial"),
released on Jan. 26, 2000, stated that the best evidence available suggests
the strong likelihood that Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings had a
relationship over time that led to the birth of one, and perhaps all, of the
known children of Sally Hemings. As in medicine, it is ALWAYS appropriate to
get a "second opinion."
