"the Archives doesn't generate revenue and hence has to bear the full burden
of the mandated cuts."
Georgia taxpayers could, patriotically, shoulder this burden. Here in the
Commonwealth of Virginia, "enlightened preemptive" legislative action has
lessen the likelihood of the complete shutdown of non revenue generating
activities and wisely shifted revenue responsibilities onto a number of
activities that have more than adequate potential to be completely
self-supporting; i.e. public TV/radio. But more work needs to be done (read
"The Return of 1933" being written in "our financial times".)
"Someone needs to shut the door on the "fairness locker" and open the one
marked "undoing the delusional." - Scrooge
A Republic should never be about providing for the public "wants"; but all
about assisting and enabling the public in earning its "needs".
