I was pleased to learn that the Virginia Historical Society has linked to ONE PART of the Lancaster County Estate Data Base, 1835-1865. I was disappointed that  VHS only has one "link" that contains ONLY names of slaves in a pdf file. The data base is much more than just a list of names. It is an interactive database that explains who was who, and when and where. I think the VHS would be better served to link to the main database rather than simply link to one of several indexes to it.
